I usually don’t leave reviews unless the service was egregious…But this place was pretty close to excellence! All of the food tastes great! The service was impeccable! I have no complaints. It’s not the greatest atmosphere, but it doesn’t suck either! I’ll definitely be back ASAP!

This place is appropriate for business meetings, friends and family, or just because. It is rare that you find a place of this caliber. Thank you Southfield Pancake House! I honestly don’t know what some of the other reviews are talking about because my experience at Southfield Pancake House was amazing! I went on a Friday morning around 10 a.m., and it wasn’t busy at all calm, clean, and the staff was super welcoming. I came with three other people, and we all ordered breakfast. Everyone loved their food. I ordered chocolate waffles with three pieces of fried chicken tenders and even though chocolate waffles weren’t on the menu, they actually accommodated me and made them anyway! The tenders were hot, fresh, and perfectly seasoned, and they paired so well with the waffles. I also tried the grits, which were creamy and full of flavor definitely recommend them. The bacon was alright, nothing crazy but still good, and the pancakes were absolutely delicious fluffy, buttery, and perfectly cooked. The hashbrowns tasted like the frozen kind you’d get from the store, but they were still crispy and enjoyable. The orange juice had a tangy taste that was a little off not bad, just not my favorite. The service was really good overall. The waitress was super nice, polite, and made sure we had what we needed. The only thing was that service was a bit slow but I honestly think they were just giving us time to enjoy our food and talk, since she came to check on us every 8–10 minutes or so. It didn’t feel rude or neglectful, just a relaxed pace. Overall, I’d 100% come back again. If you’re looking for a solid breakfast spot in Southfield with great food, fair prices, and friendly service, Southfield Pancake House is definitely worth a visit!

Food was excellent. The server was friendly and kind. Quick service. Reasonably priced. I had the Apple Pie waffle and catfish. The Apple Pie waffle is a must try for anyone wanting something unique and delicious. Tastes exactly like the name. Like a grandma made it with love. The catfish was great and well seasoned. Will return.

I'd come back to try the other foods but not expecting breakfast to be seasoned. There might have been a DASH of pepper on the homefries, but the hamburger was def just thrown on the grill & cooked as is. Quiet restaurant. Low staff. Doesnt seem like it gets too crazy but then again, i came in at 2. Menu says they close at 3p, but online says 4p. Wait to be seated. Kinda chilly by the windows Receipt is taken to the front to be paid

I enjoy this place… The food is always good… And today the snicker French toast and western omelette and grits were fabulous tasting as always! The only reason why I didn’t give this place a five is because it was a bit cold inside, and the weather was only like 48°, the menu had been updated and does not offer a side with the omelette which should in my opinion, it should have some kind of potato or grits choice that comes with the price of the meal… as well as I feel there’s always room for improvement in most places. Staff was very friendly and parking is always spacious.
